Salary: The hourly rate for this position is $34.01.

No Health/Fringe benefits

Note: This is a temporary six (6) months position with the possibility of an extension. The

position is limited to a maximum of 944 hours in a fiscal year.

Example of Duties

  • Complete all Treatment Assessment Service Court (TASC) evaluations and re-evaluations for Family Court customers and when ordered by the court..
  • Monitor screen supplies advising when ordering is needed, conduct urine screenings and monitor customers.
  • Submit monthly stats TASC Referrals.
  • Follow-up with judges regarding concerns and issues on TASC referrals.
  • Log data for customers into Juvenile Automated Management System.
  • Attend and participate in team meetings.
  • Maintain License Clinical Alcohol Drug Counselor credentials and/or required licenses for the State of NJ.
  • Facilitate presentations on assessment phases to judges, management and team leaders and for special events.
  • Coordinate visits to the Juvenile Detention Center as necessary.
  • Upload all necessary documents into eCourts case jackets.
  • Assist with special projects and other related duties in the Division.


Qualifications

Certification: Possession of a valid New Jersey certification as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC). Applicants who possess the credential as a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC) are considered to have met the above certification requirement.

Substitution: Valid certification as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and two years of experience in a recognized treatment program or agency evaluating and/or counseling chemically dependent clients, including gathering and analyzing socioeconomic information; determining client treatment needs; providing access to social services, therapeutic interventions, rehabilitative assistance, or professional counseling; and preparing reports of findings and recommendations may be substituted for the CADC.

Supplemental Information

Physical Ability: For some positions, applicants must have the ability to perform work which requires climbing and prolonged standing, stretching, bending and reaching. The selected candidate must be able to frequently lift and carry supplies weighing from 30 to 50 pounds and, occasionally, materials weighing up to 75 pounds.

Driver's License: Appointee will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties of the position.

Authorization to Work: US citizenship is not required. Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.

Special Note: Newly hired employees must agree to a thorough background check that will include fingerprinting. All data received will be kept in strict confidence except to inform the individual of the findings and what action will be taken as a result of this information.

Residency Law: In accordance with N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70), the "New Jersey First Act," all persons newly hired by the Judiciary within one year must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey. Any person may request an exemption from that requirement from the Employee Residency Review Committee in the Department of Labor & Workforce Development on the basis of either hardship or employer critical need.
