The State of New Jersey’s Disaster Recovery and Mitigation Division is seeking highly qualified professionals with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in overseeing Federal and State Disaster Recovery efforts. This critical role supports the state’s ongoing recovery and mitigation efforts by ensuring compliance with federal regulations, optimizing financial oversight, and managing key initiatives that strengthen community resilience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct financial transaction reviews, forecasting, and federal reporting to ensure compliance and transparency in disaster recovery funding;
- Oversee regulatory compliance, program monitoring, and risk management to align with federal and state requirements;
- Manage and support housing recovery, infrastructure, or mitigation programs designed to assist impacted communities;
- Coordinate with subrecipients, local governments, and stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of federally funded projects;
- Support project management office (PMO) initiatives, ensuring streamlined workflows, reporting accuracy, and policy adherence; or
- Utilize IT systems and data management tools to enhance reporting, program tracking, and process efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience overseeing federal disaster recovery programs.
- Expertise in financial oversight, regulatory compliance, and program monitoring.
- Strong background in housing recovery, infrastructure, and mitigation initiatives.
- Experience in subrecipient management and coordination with local/state agencies.
- Proficiency in project management principles and IT systems supporting disaster recovery efforts.
- HUD CDBG-DR or FEMA experience is preferred.
