Ann Klein Forensic Center is seeking an Associate Hospital Administrator 1 with the working title of AHA1/Chief Nursing Officer. This employee will oversee and direct the delivery of 24-hour services and works with senior executives to forecast plans and implement long-range strategies for the department.
Supervises the Director of Nursing, hires new nurses, facilitates training opportunities, monitors, and manages the work of the department, and makes disciplinary recommendations. Serves as a liaison between nurses and administrators. Fosters collaborative relationships and teamwork within the nursing department and other disciplines such as the Medical Security Officers and clinical staff.
Provides reports, presentations, operational leadership, and representation to the CEO and executive staff. Ensures staff perform all aspects of patient care reducing the likelihood of healthcare errors. Helps to ensure health care safety and quality as well as approving model for delivery of nursing care. Formulates plans for new programs and changes to existing programs as needed. Oversees compliance with nursing standards, regulations, and laws including the Joint Commission. Conducts meetings necessary to convey information to departmental staff, including daily communication meetings, reviews of high-risk patients, patient information, and staffing and administrative concerns.
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in Hospital Administration, Public Administration, Public Health, Business Administration or Mental Health Administration, Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, Rehabilitation or related field.
EXPERIENCE: Five (5) years of administrative experience managing a significant service or program in a psychiatric or general hospital, large mental health facility or social services agency dealing with the mentally ill.
NOTE: Applicants who do not possess a Master’s degree may substitute one (1) year of additional experience as indicated above.
