What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supervising Rehabilitation Counselor Mental Health position at New Jersey Department of Health?
This is a department head position in charge of the vocational department within the rehabilitation department at Ann Klein. This position supervises four other positions within the department: a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor, Instructional Counselor, and two Senior Therapy Program Aides as well as managing the active patient worker program within the hospital. This position oversees all operations of the patient commissary store including interfacing with suppliers and ordering all goods provided within, completing all legally required audits, training all staff and patient workers, interfacing with all business office and security staff necessary to allow for safe and continuous running of the store, chairing the internal store committee, and maintaining patient safety through diet compliance with store orders. This position also oversees the vocational skills and vocational Illness management and recovery groups within the rehab department which transition patients to the patient worker program. This position also is assigned to treatment teams, engages in the interhospital vocational department meeting, and fills in for the Director of Rehab as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
NOTE: Applicants must meet one of the following or a combination of both experience and education. Thirty (30) semester hour credits are equal to one (1) year of relevant experience.
Seven (7) years of professional experience in vocational/ rehabilitation guidance or counseling, other related guidance and counseling, or social or medical casework in a rehabilitation agency, facility or other social program designed to increase the employability or social productivity of clients, including or supplemented by twenty-four (24) semester hour credits in a combination of the following areas: Vocational Counseling, Rehabilitation, Counseling, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Vocational Guidance, Special Education or related areas.
OR
Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, including or supplemented by twenty-four (24) semester hour credits in a combination of the following areas: Vocational Counseling, Rehabilitation, Counseling, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Vocational Guidance, Special Education or related areas; and three (3) years of the above-mentioned professional experience.
OR
Possession of a Master's degree in Vocational Counseling, Rehabilitation, Counseling, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Vocational Guidance, Special Education or related areas; and two (2) years of the above-mentioned professional experience.
