What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Executive Service (Manager) position at New Jersey Department of Transportation?
OFFICE DESCRIPTION The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) is seeking applications for candidates for the position of Senior Executive Service (Manager). The standard workweek is Monday through Friday.
The person appointed to this position will report to the Director, Division of Right of Way and Access Management within Capital Program Management, and will have primary responsibility for the administration of the Right of Way Program in the Mt. Arlington Office covering 10 counties.
Right of Way program includes overseeing real property appraisals, negotiations, relocation and property management. The essential duties are to monitor and evaluate all aspects of routine operations to identify programmatic issues affecting performance and productivity, to prepare well - documented recommendations having achievable goals, to develop sound action plans, and to ensure the effective and efficient implementation of adopted strategies.
In addition to the above, the interests of all relevant stakeholders (e.g. District staff, outside consultants, property owners and their agents, AG;s Office, FHWA, Headquarters staff, Project Managers, etc.) are to be closely coordinated and addressed so as to provide the highest level of service possible. This will require the establishment and implementation of work processes consistent with a project management environment, one that makes full use of all available technologies and contemporary program delivery options.
REQUIREMENTS Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree.
Preferred Additional Educational Requirements: Knowledge of FHWA Acquisition process, including attending classes in Real Estate Appraisal courses or Master's degree from accredited college or university in Real Estate or MBA.
Experience: Seven (7) years of professional experience in the delivery of multi - disciplined transportation projects, requiring interdependency and understanding of various project work break down structure and creating milestones of cross functional activities. The indicated experience must demonstrate direct and specific involvement with such projects on a cross - functional basis (i.e., the use of consultant contract administration and methodologies, staff performance monitoring, budget and schedule controls, team building, etc. Three years of the required experience shall have been in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
