Position Summary :
Under the leadership of the Executive Director, the Director for Program Operations and Outreach is responsible for leading and supervising staff in planning, implementing, conducting outreach, researching, and evaluating K-20 programs and initiatives sponsored by the Center for Pre-College Programs (CPCP). The Director is expected to work occasional weekends and evenings to fulfill leadership responsibilities.
Essential Functions :
- Planning, implementing, researching, and assessing credit and non-credit bearing programs and activities for the K-20 student population in collaboration with the CPCP Leadership Team, cluster staff, and other NJIT staff.
- Designing, restructuring, and implementing program offerings to address the learning needs of pre-college students, with a special focus on the underserved and underrepresented in STEM fields.
- Recruiting, hiring, leading, supervising, and evaluating staff to support program implementation and ensure high standards of professionalism and integrity.
- Developing and managing budgets to support program implementation, staffing, and office operations.
- Engaging in grant-writing and fundraising activities to sustain programs and develop new opportunities.
- Preparing budget reports for grant programs.
- Collaborating with the Office of Advancement and Development to submit program and budget reports to sponsors.
- Establishing partnerships with stakeholders in STEM to increase engagement in CPCP activities.
- Implementing CPCP’s Slate platform for data collection and management related to cluster programs.
- Conducting outreach to public school districts to increase awareness and participation in CPCP programs.
- Advocating and garnering support for CPCP programs at various levels.

Prerequisite Qualifications :
Master's degree required with at least 10 years of related experience in a K-20 school setting. Strong management, development, planning, and organizational skills are essential, along with effective verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, financial management systems, Google Workspace platforms, and virtual platforms is required. Experience in curriculum development and assessment in STEM education is also necessary.
Experience in personnel supervision, budget development, and research and evaluation is required. At the university's discretion, equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications :
Master’s degree preferred in STEM and / or K-20 education.
