New Jersey Reentry Corporation, Veteran Justice Outreach Services is an employment, housing, medical, and mental health-focused, data-driven, non-profit organization serving veterans, including court-involved. We are currently seeking a Case Manager with relevant work experience. This is a full-time salaried position with a full benefits package, Monday through Friday. Case Managers will work directly with our Veteran clients to keep track of their progress and assist them with removing barriers to sustainable lifestyles, including assisting with Veteran resources such as the VA, housing, mental health, and employment. Case Managers are capable of making referrals to agencies for services needed that will help remove barriers to successful living.
Responsibilities:
The Case Manager will, at a minimum, become familiar with new Veteran clients' risks, needs, and skills that will affect stable living, housing, employment, mental health, and medical needs during intake and follow-up and provide such services by linking up the community of Veteran resources. The Case Manager will update the client detail page on Salesforce with Intake Package, VA services, Veterans needs coordination with mental health and medical health, and stable housing, as well as assist clients with applying for benefits programs, ie. Welfare, Medicaid, etc.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum one (1) year experience in casework duties providing services to the targeted population.
Working knowledge of the social service system, veteran services, and criminal justice issues.
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and exceptional date-entry skills.
A strengths-based, respectful, and trauma-informed approach to services is an absolute requirement for the position.
Ability to work in an interdisciplinary client-centered team.
Preferred Qualifications:
Training in Motivational Interviewing or trauma-informed care
Direct experience with veterans and court-involved citizens
Experience with program and process evaluation
Minimum Education Required:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Social Service or a related field
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
The individual must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, time management, problem-solving/analytical skills, a teamwork orientation, customer and client focus, thoroughness, and flexibility.
Salary:
The starting salary is $43,500. Negotiable
