New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG), a subsidiary of NJR is seeking a Summer Utility Worker in our Northern Division to be a part of our annual meter maintenance program team.

What you will do:
Bring your enthusiasm and drive and you’ll learn from some of the top talent in the energy industry. You’ll have hands-on experience with your team and the support of our human resources team through this 10-week program. Growing both professionally and personally throughout the program could lead to future opportunities.
Travel in a company vehicle throughout the NJNG service territory to paint and perform corrosion control of residential and commercial meters. Enjoy the great outdoors this summer while you gain valuable experience working in the energy industry.
What we are looking for:
We’re looking for self-starters who are motivated to learn, grow and take on new challenges. Individuals who are flexible, dependable, work well in varying environments and want to make an impact in your community and company are welcomed here.
Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a high school vocational program or pursing a college degree
Must have a valid NJ driver’s license and safe driving record
Demonstrated ability to work safely
Self-starter, ability to work independently and deliver results
Must be dependable and punctual
Good communication and teamwork skills
Previous job experience preferred
At least 18 years old
This is a full-time, 10-week summer position from June to August, Monday through Friday.

*This position is deemed safety-sensitive under the U.S. Department of Transportation Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration’s regulations. Among other things, employees in this position are subject to drug and alcohol testing, including pre-employment testing, random testing, reasonable suspicion testing and post-accident testing. PHMSA-required drug tests include testing for marijuana. The use of marijuana, or testing positive for marijuana, is disqualifying and will lead to removal from performing safety-sensitive functions as well as disciplinary action.
