We are seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team of healthcare professionals. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and treating patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary disorders and providing education to patients and their families on how to manage their conditions.
Responsibilities:
- Assess and treat patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary disorders, such as asthma, bronchitis, emphysema, and pneumonia, in accordance with the scope of practice for a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
- Administer medication and oxygen therapy as prescribed by physicians, in accordance with the scope of practice for a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
- Conduct pulmonary function tests and blood gas analysis to evaluate patients' respiratory function, in accordance with the scope of practice for a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
- Educate patients and their families on how to manage their conditions, including medication use and breathing techniques, in accordance with the scope of practice for a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians and nurses, to develop patient treatment plans, in accordance with the scope of practice for a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
- Monitor and record patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary, in accordance with the scope of practice for a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
- Respond to emergency situations, such as cardiac arrest, and provide life support measures as needed, in accordance with the scope of practice for a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
Requirements:
- Certification in Respiratory Therapy.
- Current state license to practice as a Respiratory Therapist.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required for a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergency situations.
Physical Demands:
The Registered Respiratory Therapist may be required to stand or sit for long periods of time, lift and move patients, and work in a variety of healthcare settings, including hospitals, clinics, and home healthcare.
