Location: Bristol, CT
Job Title: Clinical Respiratory Therapist
Type: Full-Time , Part Time, & Per-Diem
Shifts: Day (7am-7pm) and Night (7pm-7am)
Requirements: Respiratory Therapy Care Practitioner who is a graduate of an American Medical Association approved training program. Has successfully passed the certification examination. Maintains a current RCP license and CPR certification (BLS).
Duties:
- CPR
- Operation, maintenance, and management of mechanical ventilators
- Patient transportation (internal and external)
- Blood gas collection and interpretation
- Artificial airway management
- Aerosolized drug administration
- Oxygen therapy
- Humidity therapy
- CPAP therapy
- Pulse oximetry
- Capnography
- Patient assessment
- Effective communication with other department and family members
- Operation of all equipment in accordance with department policy
- Quality control of all equipment
- Participation in the departments quality improvement programs
- Equipment cleaning
- Participation in in-service education program
- Following Physician orders
- Other assigned duties
Physical and Emotional Demands: Good physical and emotional health. Needs to comprehend and communicate with staff, residents and their families.
Exposure Risks: Normal work routine could involve exposure to blood and body fluids. Responsible for following OSHA guideline standard and the use of universal precautions.
Working Conditions: Hours indicated by the residents and community's needs. Must be willing to work weekends and holidays.
