Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Life Skills Trainer to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with individuals, particularly at-risk youth or those with behavioral challenges, to help them develop essential life skills. Your primary focus will be fostering independence and enhancing the quality of life for those you support. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a genuine passion for caregiving.
Responsibilities
- Assist youth in developing daily living skills, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household management.
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and goals.
- Provide support in social interactions and community engagement activities.
- Implement individualized training plans tailored to each client's abilities and preferences.
- Foster a safe and supportive environment that encourages independence and self-confidence.
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and any relevant incidents.
- Create lesson plans to help build a good foundation for youth.
Experience
- Highschool Diploma or GED
- Previous experience in caregiving or support roles is preferred, particularly in home community care or childcare settings.
- Familiarity with working with youth.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations are essential.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and training in related fields is encouraged.
