What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Estimator position at New Kent Coatings?
New Kent Coatings, Inc. is looking for an Estimator based near Chesapeake, VA for its rapidly growing Flooring Division. Our team works exclusively in the industrial and commercial sectors and specializes in epoxy resinous floor coatings and concrete polishing. If your energy can help us grow, we want to talk to you.
Responsibilities:
- Review project plans, specifications, and all contract documents
- Determine capability in consultation with senior staff
- Produce accurate take-offs and bids
- Assist customer PMs in value engineering and alternates when asked
- Communicate effectively with project managers to clarify project details, review addenda, and keep up to date on changing project details.
- Develop relationships with customer project managers to drive future business
- Aid the rest of the NKC team in monitoring and analyzing job performance
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of construction estimating experience with a proven track record of achievement
- Must be organized and methodical in managing many simultaneous bid projects
- Must be skilled at building and maintaining strong relationships
- Experience with bidding software such as Stack, Blue Beam, etc.
- Personable and professional in all settings
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Capable with typical technology of the workplace – MS Office Suite, CRM software, etc.
- Must reside near Chesapeake, VA
- Valid driver’s license
- Drug free
Pay: $75,000-90,000 depending on experience
