Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of general ledger accounting, journal entries, and bank reconciliations. The Bookkeeper will play a crucial role in supporting our financial operations and contributing to the overall success of the organization.
Duties
- Maintain and update the general ledger with accurate journal entries.
- Perform bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are accounted for.
- Conduct account reconciliations to verify the accuracy of financial data.
- Assist with governmental accounting and compliance requirements.
- Prepare and file tax documents as needed.
- Utilize financial software, including Sage, to manage accounts and generate reports.
- Process payroll accurately and in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary financial information.
- Provide support during audits by preparing necessary documentation.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting principles and practices.
- Familiarity with journal entries, bank reconciliation, and account reconciliation processes.
- Experience in governmental accounting is a plus.
- Proficiency in tax preparation and filing is desirable.
- Knowledge of financial software, particularly Sage, is advantageous.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills are essential.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
