New Leaf Energy is seeking a Transmission Analyst/Intern to join our Utility-Scale Policy and Business Development team for Summer 2025. The role offers unique exposure to clean energy market dynamics occurring across the country. In this role we are seeking candidates that are eager to apply their abilities and technical skills in data analysis, data science, and data visualization to build creative solutions to assess and provide insights into clean energy trends and market dynamics occurring country-wide and regionally.
This position is available to start in May 2025 and will last a minimum of three months.
We value in-person collaboration and offer a hybrid work environment. Hybrid employees will work in our Lowell or Boston office at least two out of every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and are free to work from the office or home on other days.

- Updating and maintaining project, transmission, queue data repositories;
- Working in Excel and with several data tools to analyze and assess data to identify trends and insights;
- Researching and monitoring transmission plans and proceedings;
- Creating and maintaining workbooks and maps to support regional prospecting;
- Performing project-specific research related to RTO or utility plans;
- Supporting the creation of policy presentations, comments, and other materials.

- Enrolled in an undergraduate program with a focus on data analysis, computer science, mathematics/statistics, engineering, or an equivalent/related field;
- Familiarity with Excel, PowerBI and/or Tableau, and Python (Python not necessary but preferred);
- Passionate and interested to learn about the clean energy industry;
- Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrated ability to creatively tackle problems;
- Ability to prioritize requests.
