Footwear Production Supervisor Job Description
Position: Production Supervisor
Department: Thrift Store
Reports to: Thrift Store Manager
FLSA Classification: Non-exempt
Starting Hourly Wage: $18.00
Summary
New Life Center Footwear Production Supervisor is responsible for ensuring shoe donations are sorted, priced, and that the store is full for a positive shopping experience for all customers. The position will be cross-trained in all areas of the production and retail environment to include, but not limited to providing excellent customer service, cash-handling procedures, processing donated goods, sorting, pricing, and stocking.
Essential Responsibilities
Essential Function 1: Process Management
- Supervise the monthly and seasonal rotation of footwear, ensuring the correct tags are being used.
- Supervise the volume of donations and seasonal storage, meeting production goals and maintaining the quality of goods being produced and consistent pricing on items.
- Evaluate and communicate the need for products or supplies.
- Provide training to staff, volunteers, or job training guests on how to assist in the process.
Essential Function 2: Sort Footwear
- Develop awareness of pricing guidelines, ensuring items are earning appropriate revenue while providing the customer with a feel of winning.
- Sort through carts of donations, evaluate the quality, and determine the price at which the items will be sold.
- Work with volunteers, sales associates, and the Thrift Store Manager to continuously monitor price points.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the production area.
- Assist warehouse staff with organization of donated goods in appropriate places.
Essential Function 3: Sales Floor and Surrounding Areas
- Work with the Thrift Store Manager to keep the sales floor stocked, organized, and attractive to shoppers.
- Provides direction to staff or volunteers on stocking shelves or racks and locating items on the sales floor.
- Answer customer questions and assist customers as needed.
- While in the sorting area, provide friendly service to donors by assisting them with unloading their donated goods.
- Cross train in other departments as needed and requested from management, i.e., Sales Associate.
- Assist Thrift Store leadership with training of new employees.

Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma required.
Preferred Education and Experience
- 1 year of customer service experience preferred.
- Retail experience preferred.
Additional Eligibility Requirements
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
Working Environment
- This position functions in a thrift store and warehouse setting where medium duty equipment such as forklifts are in use; appropriate safety considerations will be required to avoid injury.
- Ability to lift loads up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Skills
- Must be 18 years of age to operate the necessary equipment.
- Knowledge of current pricing on common items, and the ability to identify value, assess quality and need.
