Position Summary
The Abundant Life Director position is full-time, 40 hours per week (exempt, benefits eligible) and will take place at our New Life Centers locations. The Abundant Life Director will build a network of mentors and partners while also providing guidance for the continued growth and health of the Abundant Life Entrepreneurship program. This position will report to the Chief Program Officer. Will require some local travel (reimbursable). Pay commensurate with experience. This position is in-person.
Job Responsibilities
- Collaborating with the Director of Partner Engagement and Volunteer Coordinator to engage mentors for program pairings and supplemental curriculum facilitation.
- Develop standard operating procedures (SOP) to maximize SE/mentor relations, including mentor onboarding/training.
- Working with the Director of Marketing and Communication to develop materials for promotion of programs and cohorts.
- Liaising with external partners to recruit/select/support partner-driven industry-specific programming.
- Representing NLC by attending events and being active in the local community and entrepreneurship ecosystem.
- Supporting the developing of presentation decks, case study materials, and templates.
- Facilitate the collection of impact metrics and surveys of both SEs and mentors.
- Working with capital candidates to develop, hone, and present a strong and compelling case for why they should receive funding.
- Helping to gather mentors to represent an “investor audience” for enterprise presentation rehearsal/feedback sessions.
- Evaluating financial models and helping short up weak areas of the SE’s package.
- Understanding of and alignment with NLC’s mission, values, and model.
- Supporting all involved stakeholder in addressing challenges and removing barriers as needed to drive accomplishments.
- Recording and updating process resources including insight, lessons learned, and opportunities for improvement.
- Supporting relationship between NLC staff, clients, mentors, and partners.
- Working cross culturally and communicating with understanding to a diverse group of community members.
- Maintains accuracy of budget and spending plan.
- Participates in required evaluations and audits when necessary.
- Demonstrates New Life Centers’ values.
- Attends required meetings and trainings.
- Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Skills & Qualifications
- Must become a Certified Mandated Reporter. Training provided.
- Must pass a background check, must not have any pending cases.
- Must pass a Child Abuse and Neglect Tracking System background check.
- Must pass a National Sex Offender Registry background check.
- Must have a working phone and phone number.
- One year experience working in the human services field in a capacity that involves direct services to at-risk youth.
- Cross-cultural competency.
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally.
- Must be willing to be trained and proficiently utilize Microsoft 365 and other information tracking systems relevant to duties.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Must keep confidentiality of participant information.
- Valid Illinois driver’s license. Ability to travel to different sites as needed. Subject to driving background check.
- Must have access to a vehicle in order to visit sites as needed.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
