Job Summary
The Tote Sanitation Operator will be responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of totes (large containers) used to store and transport chemicals. This position plays a critical role in maintaining a clean and safe working environment while ensuring that all totes are thoroughly washed, sanitized, and ready for reuse in production.
Responsibilities:
· Tote Cleaning & Sanitization: Operate industrial cleaning equipment to wash and sanitize totes used in the storage and transport of chemicals, ensuring all chemical residues are removed.
· Inspection & Maintenance: Inspect totes for damage and wear, report any issues, and ensure all containers are in good working condition. Perform basic repairs if necessary.
· Chemical Handling: Follow established safety protocols for handling chemicals used in the cleaning process, ensuring proper storage and disposal methods.
· Inventory Management: Maintain an organized inventory of clean totes and ensure the timely availability of clean containers for production needs.
· Record Keeping: Document the cleaning process and maintain accurate records of cleaning schedules, chemical usage, and maintenance performed on totes.
· Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety and environmental regulations and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment. Ensure that all personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn and maintained at all times.
· Collaboration: Work closely with production teams to meet daily production requirements and provide clean totes on time.
· Equipment Operation & Maintenance: Operate cleaning machines and other equipment, ensuring they are maintained and serviced regularly.
Work Environment
· The role is performed in an industrial setting where safety protocols must be followed at all times.
· PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as gloves, safety goggles, and protective clothing will be provided and must be worn during work.
· Exposure to chemicals and cleaning agents will require adherence to proper handling and safety procedures.
Physical Demands
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
· Stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
· Ability to work in varying temperatures (may be exposed to hot or cold environments).
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Required Education and Experience
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Previous warehouse experience in a warehouse, production, or industrial cleaning role
· Ability to operate forklift & industrial cleaning machines.
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
· Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills for minor equipment issues.
· Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety guidelines.
· Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 39 per week
