Job Summary |
To serve New Life Downtown by leading various Sunday morning and mid-week volunteer teams, by discipling and
caring for team leaders and volunteers, and by overseeing many of operational aspects of our ministries including
communications, events, systems/processes, etc.
Duties and Responsibilities |
Looking for Individual who is:
- Spiritually Mature: Maturely embodies and imparts formational practices such as communion, confession, prayer, Sabbath, and community.
- Self-Directed: Proven ability to take initiative.
- Organized & Detailed: Able to systematize and manage several projects while pursuing efficiency and ensuring accuracy.
- Technologically Proficient: Able to work with several programs including Office 365, Church Community Builder, Planning Center Online, etc.
- Strong Communicator: Able to communicate in an engaging and effective manner.
Essential Responsibilities:
Leadership Role
- Collaborate with Lead Pastor and Lead Team to further vision & strategy of New Life Downtown
- Communicate and execute this vision and strategy in areas of operational oversight
- Meet regularly with Lead Pastor for oversight
- Meet regularly with supervised staff to provide oversight
- Collaborate with New Life Central and other New Life congregations as needed
- Perform other duties when requested to do so by the Lead Pastor
Teams Role
- Lead efforts to recruit, vet, train, develop, empower, celebrate, and care for volunteers to serve as Team Leaders and members
- Oversee systems and resources for volunteer teams including those related to Set Up & Tear Down, Life Safety, Communion, Prayer, Scripture Reading, and more
- Oversee set up and tear down of lobby, hallways, Kids Ministry, Sanctuary, etc. for New Life Downtown services
- Communicate effectively with staff and congregants, particularly with Team Leaders and volunteers
- Plan and execute Team Launches & Team Days in collaboration with the Lead Pastor
- Oversee the Serve Team process queues in Church Community Builder
- Oversee the scheduling of volunteer teams in Planning Center Services or Church Community Builder
- Collaborate with Serve Team staff at New Life Central
Operations Role
- Serve as the primary contact for New Life Downtown with Palmer High School, District 11 and other business partners
- Assist Lead Pastor with future building as needed
- Coordinate execution of New Life Downtown services
- Oversee execution of all New Life Downtown events and communications in partnership with Coordinator of Communications & Events and New Life Central
- Assist all New Life Downtown staff with IT needs and training including the use of various programs
- Develop, oversee, and execute New Life Downtown organizational systems and processes including the development of engagement reports and analysis, staff onboarding, project management, etc.
- Collaborate with New Life Central including serving as the CCB (Database) champion for NLD
Staff Role
- Attend New Life Downtown on Sunday mornings, missing no more than four Sundays per year
- Attend New Life Downtown staff meetings and retreats
- Assist New Life Downtown staff with special services and events
- Assist with New Life Downtown and New Life Church Tier One Events including but not limited to Team Days and Special Services
- Demonstrate ongoing financial support of the ministries of New Life Church and New Life Downtown
- Work in close association with the entire staff to build and maintain a strong team environment among our staff and complete the work necessary to fully serve and support the ministries and events of New Life Church
- Perform other duties when requested to do so by the Lead Pastor
- Serve as Pastor on Call and Pastor on Site, as well as conducting pastoral visitations
- Actively participate in service responsibilities, altar and First Wednesday gatherings
- Assist the department in coordinating various tasks and procedures.
- Assist supervisor with special projects, events, and diverse tasks in support of the department.
- Attend department meetings, regular all-staff meetings and other meetings as required.
- Utilize a thorough understanding of New Life Church employee policies and procedures.
- Work in close association with the entire staff to build and maintain a strong team environment.
- Cooperate with leadership by performing any other duties when asked to do so.

Education and Experience |
Education: Bachelor’s Degree Required; Master’s Degree Preferred
Experience: 2-3 years of vocational ministry or 4-5 years of volunteer ministry experience
Working Conditions and Requirements of Office Environment |
Physical Demands:
Regularly required to sit and occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
Close visual acuity is necessary to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
