New Life Community Outreach

· Current Ministries: hot breakfast and worship (Sunday), free medical clinic (Sunday), NEW4U men’s clothing room (Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday), legal assistance (one Sun per month)
· Located in the Short North of Columbus, Ohio.
· Staffed primarily by volunteers
· Many members of our community live outdoors and most have at one time been without housing.

Part-time: 8-10 hours a week
Compensation: $22.50-$25.00/hr, PTO per policy in employee manual
Schedule: Flexible work schedule. Required to be onsite during hours we are open to the public on Sundays (6:45-8:45) and Wednesdays (9:30-11:00).
Responsibilities
1. Engage patients and guests in basic motivational interviewing & assist with goal setting.
2. Make referrals and connect patients and guests with community resources as appropriate to assist them in reaching their goals.
3. Advocate for and assist with completing applications and enrollment in programs and benefits for which they are eligible (health insurance, detox, rehab, housing, food stamps, financial assistance, job training, etc.).
4. Provide ongoing follow-up & celebrate goals achieved.
5. Meet with patients and guests onsite, via phone calls and in other community settings.
6. Document interactions, service plans, goal setting/achieving.
7. Oversee, train, supervise, coordinate, and retain competent, qualified ministry interns, and volunteers to assist with goal setting and connecting persons with community resources.
8. Delegate responsibilities to volunteers.
9. Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance at all times.
10. Reach out to the community to network and promote the clinic.
11. Work collaboratively with the clinic volunteer team.
12. Provide spiritual support, foster spiritual development, and maintain spiritual health.
13. Oversee and manage expenses, remain within budget, and maintain records of expenses. Anticipate major changes and seek budget amendments from Executive Director as needed.
14. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· Certified community healthcare worker, BA in social work or related field, or social work or counseling student.
· Experience working with people who experience homelessness.
· Submit to criminal background check.
· Work well individually and collaboratively.
· Work comfortably in a stressful environment and able to resolve conflicts & set good boundaries.
· Mature faith to promote a faith-based culture and spiritual wellness.
