Summer Help - Housekeeper/Custodian- Temporary positions
Summer 2025 Only

Phase 1: May 19, 2025 through approximately June 6, 2025

• May 19 - May 23 hours are 3:30 pm to approximately 5:30 pm dependent on teacher schedules
• May 27 - June 6 hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm

Phase 2: 2 weeks towards the end of the summer (dates to be decided - dependendent on construction projects)

• Hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm

General Definition of Work
Phase 1: Preparation of classrooms to allow for summer construction project(s).
Phase 2: Reassembly and cleaning of classrooms to prepare for school.

Essential Functions
Phase1:
Packing and moving of boxes, furniture, and other classroom materials
Related work as apparent or assigned.

Phase 2:
Unpacking and moving of boxes, furniture, and other classroom materials.
Deep cleaning projects throughout district
Vacuum all carpets in learning areas, offices, and other places
Clean restrooms
Dust entryways, halls, and other areas
Empty garbage cans
Clean windows
Clean classroom furniture
Clean and/or change lightbulbs
Clean entryways, bathrooms, walls, and light fixtures
Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Phase 1: Able to read and understand labels, directions, and schedules.
Phase 2: Able to read and understand labels, directions, and schedules.Thorough knowledge of School District policies and procedures; knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and products; knowledge of chemical cleaning agents; knowledge of MSDS sheets and reports; ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with co-workers and students.

Physical Requirements
This work requires the frequent exertion of up to 25 pounds of force and occasional exertion of up to 50 pounds of force while lifting, pushing, and/or pulling; work regularly requires standing, walking, using hands to handle or feel, pushing or pulling and repetitive motions, frequently requires climbing, bending and/or balancing and occasionally requires speaking or hearing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms and lifting; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts and observing general surroundings and activities; work occasionally requires exposure to bloodborne pathogens and may be required to wear specialized personal protective equipment and Bodily fluids; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).

Special Requirements
Driver's license preferred but not required.

Wage:
$16.82/hour
