Position: Behavioral Health Technician
Salary: $18 - $21 / hour
Job Type: Full-time
Compensation package includes health, vision, dental, and 401k with company match.
Summary:
New Method Wellness is a Drug and Alcohol Treatment Facility located in San Juan Capistrano, accredited by CARF, the Joint Commission and DHCS. We’re looking for enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about helping others. Must be able to take direction well and have effective communication and people skills. Experience necessary. Must pass drug screening, background check and have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record. If in personal recovery, prefer at least 1 year of sobriety.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Complete new admission intake procedures according to program policies on all new admissions (UA, belongings searches, and paperwork).
- Assist with medication counts
- Facilitate and document groups from the curriculum provided.
- Documentation of daily progress in client charts.
- Support Clinical program with overall monitoring and support of clients.
- Crisis intervention
- Collect urine samples for testing.
- Assist, teach and/or supervise clients with general household chores, cleanliness, and food preparation; clean up as required.

- Expresses facts and thoughts in writing in a clear and organized way
- Written communication skills: documents daily progress in client charts.
- Computer Skills: Google drive and digital documentation
Knowledge:
- An understanding of chemical dependency
- An understanding of the 12 Step process
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and privacy measures
Abilities :
- Flexibility: Openness to different and new ways of doing things
- Willingness to modify one's preferred way of doing things
- Attend all state and company-mandated training
- Attend all mandatory staff meetings
- Demonstrates the ability to complete rounds by monitoring clients throughout the facility
- Comes to work on time every day. Is fully prepared and ready to work at beginning of the work schedule and continues until the workday is done
- Makes appropriate arrangements when adverse weather or other problems might delay on-time arrival
- Conforms to work hours and schedule
- Alerts the supervisor of unexpected problems that cause absence, lateness, or the need to leave early
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of one year of experience in a human services setting
- Clean DMV Record and/or accordance with program requirements
- Valid Driver’s License Current certification in First Aid/CPR Flexibility with hours and scheduling
- High School diploma, or GED equivalent. Must be legally able to work in the United States
- If in recovery, must have a minimum of 1 year of sobriety
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with chemically dependent individuals
- Experience in a detox/residential treatment facility
- Passionate about helping people recover
- Shows initiative in seeking solutions to problems
- Demonstrates self-awareness and is open to feedback from others
- Has a reputation for giving great service to clients and co-workers
Salary:
$18 - $21 / hour
