Position Summary :
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Director & Safety Officer leads a team in the maintenance of the facilities which include physical building structures, mechanical, electrical, H.V.A.C. systems, and related preventive maintenance of the facility. Ensures that the facility is in compliance with all required codes, facility licensing (JCAHO) requirements, and overall standards required by regulatory government agencies. Manages facility safety, building and facility compliance for accreditation of behavioral health services provided.
Must have experience working in psych hospital setting
Essential Duties :
- Oversee property management, and coordinates all facility related areas : general maintenance, utilities, outside service vendors, security, safety, key control, parking areas, equipment and maintains an inventory of all tools / equipment.
- Participates in all considerations during space planning, construction planning and renovation or other related projects.
- Maintains knowledge of all relevant building & fire codes as it relates to State, Federal and Accreditation regulatory requirements.
- Involved with development, implementation and compliance of established policies and procedures as it relates to the environment of care, life safety, and emergency management.
- Manages the performance and cost of contracts of all third-party service providers to ensure service level agreements are met.
- Directs and performs required site inspections and recommends facility improvements.
- Manages the skilled maintenance and environmental services team to care for and maintain the facility and grounds, ensuring the site is sanitary, safe, orderly and promotes a well maintained, attractive facility.
- Establishes and maintains an inventory system needed to manage equipment maintenance and replacements of tools, maintains a supply of key Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), supplies needed for patient rooms, cleaning supplies, (SDS sheets) and other supplies.
- Set up, operate, and oversee an ongoing preventive maintenance program and perform scheduled inspections on the equipment in the facility.
- Serve as the Chairperson of the Environment of Care Committee and the Sub-Committee of Emergency Management and assumes the role as the facility safety officer while developing, implementing, and directing the facility's safety / security management programs :
Provide safety training for all new employees which may include orientation in minimizing security risks for personnel, orientation of proper emergency procedures to be followed during a security incident and orientation on the procedure for reporting security incidents that involve patients, visitors, personnel, and property.
Qualification Requirements :
