What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Desk Receptionist position at New Mexico Bone & Joint Institute?
CHECK IN
· Greeting patients with a smile when they come into the office.
· Assisting patients as they sign in and check in.
· Pulling patients chart and assisting patient with any paperwork that might be attached.
· Verifying government issued ID, insurance cards, and referral/authorization (if needed).
· Informing and collecting patient copay and/or patient balance (if balance is outstanding).
· Checking in patient in and putting up chart for medical assistant.
· Updating patient demographics in if there are any changes.
· Making sure ID, insurance cards, and any paperwork is scanned into patients chart properly.
CHECK OUT:
· Scheduling follow up visit.
· Explaining process if any procedure, diagnostic imaging, or referral is being issued.
· Providing patient with referral, lab work, diagnostic imaging order, etc. (if applicable).
· Collecting any copay and/or balance, if not already collected.
· Checking patient out
Send outgoing referrals weekly
Send No Show letters every other day
Enter demographics by end of the day
Cash box reconciliation at the end of the day
Assist walk in patients daily with scheduling, prescription refills, medical records requests, etc.
