Due to the available budget allocated for this position, the hiring rate will not exceed $22.93 per hour.
Why does the job exist?
The purpose of this position is to provide administrative support to the RM and District Offices within Region II Standard. Primary responsibilities of this position include answering telephone calls and referring callers to appropriate agency personnel; receiving and reading incoming correspondence; fleet management; office supply purchasing; equipment inventory and purchasing; composing correspondence requiring some attention to detail; taking notes of telephone conversations; transmitting orders to department personnel; establishing and maintaining files; keeping personnel, statistical and financial records, making travel arrangements; obtaining documents, files and background information; procuring supplies, equipment, and maintenance services; performing related work as required; ability to perform difficult clerical tasks; to accept responsibility and make independent judgments to plan and organize work; to handle confidential matters in a trustworthy manner.

Experience in the following
High School diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of related experience in office administration. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling one (1) year may substitute for the required experience.
Employment Requirements
This position is designed safety sensitive. Employment is subject to pre-employment and random testing in accordance with all terms and conditions of Federal and State law, rules and regulations in relation to alcohol and/or drug testing. Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License. Pre-employment background check is required and conditional pending results.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an adult prison environment, which includes daily contact with inmates. Willingness to work in a correctional facility, may be required to work odd hours, overtime, holidays, and weekends.
