This position is the first line of care for Inmates with mental health and substance abuse issues. Employees will be performing tasks such as observing patient behavior, taking notes, and monitoring and assisting patients with daily living tasks when needed.How does it get done?
- Intake paperwork for inmates
- Complete suicide questionnaire with inmate for review by supervisors
- Observing patients' behavior
- Assisting patients with daily living including eating, drinking, bathing, and getting dressed
- Assisting in recreational and educational activities for the inmates that might include group or individual to promote growth
- Respond to crisis situations

- Experience observing patients in a mental health settingMinimum QualificationHigh School Diploma and one (1) year of experience as it pertains to the essential duties of the classification. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and / or direct experience in this occupation totaling one (1) year may substitute for the required experience.Employment RequirementsThis position is designated as safety sensitive. Employment is subject to pre-employment and random testing, in accordance with all terms and conditions of federal and state law, rules and regulations in relation to alcohol and / or drug testing. Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.Working ConditionsWork is performed in an adult prison environment, which includes daily contact with and supervision of inmates.
