To provide therapeutic and informative activities for the varied skills and ability levels for a diverse population ranging from geriatrics to adolescents. Provide opportunities for clients to acquire, enhance or maintain independent functioning skills, social skills, work behaviors and technical skills. Provide assistance to various areas of the Vocational Rehabilitation Department
(Horticulture/Farm, Industrial Trades, Cafe or Canteen) when required or directed.
How does it get done?
Assume duties of the Work Program Coordinator during the absence of the assigned Work Program Coordinator. Responsible for understanding the overall processes for the work program; completing work program application and referral forms, completing AVATAR documentation, facilitating vocational skills classes and activities and attend treatment team meetings for potential and current work program participants. Train and supervise clients assigned to all areas in the Vocational Rehab Work Program ..

Ideal Candidate
High School Diploma or GED. Two (2) years in a recreational setting and group work in a community center, school, hospital and/ or organized recreational program.
Minimum Qualification
High School Diploma or equivalent and one (1) year experience as it pertains to the essential duties and responsibilities of the classification. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling one (1) year may substitute for the required experience.

This position will perform work in an office setting as well as outdoors with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Sitting occasionally and walking and standing frequently.
