Responsibilities

Responsibilities include overseeing the implementation and expansion of the CGIC, you will ensure the seamless integration of NIBIN technology to rapidly process ballistic evidence, link crime scenes, and identify suspects. Additionally, you will coordinate training, compliance audits, and intelligence-sharing efforts, empowering law enforcement agencies, particularly those in rural and underserved areas, with the necessary tools to combat firearm-related crimes effectively.

A major aspect of this role is fostering interagency collaboration, ensuring smooth partnerships between NMDOJ, local and state law enforcement, and the ATF. You will oversee compliance with Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) and facilitate intelligence-sharing networks. Utilizing advanced analytics, you will help track and disrupt firearm trafficking networks and identify repeat offenders. Your contributions will directly lead to stronger prosecutions, improved case resolutions, and the development of policy innovations that enhance crime gun intelligence efforts.

Requirements

The ideal CGIC Coordinator is a strategic, detail-oriented professional with strong investigative, analytical, and communication skills. They will have expertise in NIBIN technology, criminal justice processes, and intelligence analysis, along with the ability to engage effectively with law enforcement, policymakers, and community leaders. This individual will be highly organized, capable of managing complex intelligence efforts, and able to ensure seamless interagency coordination.

A successful candidate will be solutions-focused, able to navigate challenges with a proactive mindset, and thrive in a collaborative environment. They must be able to adapt to evolving priorities, build relationships across multiple agencies, and develop strategies that enhance crime gun intelligence. Experience in law enforcement, criminal intelligence, or policy development is highly desirable, as is the ability to interpret data, analyze crime trends, and contribute to legislative efforts that improve public safety.

- Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, law enforcement, public administration, intelligence analysis, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in law enforcement, intelligence analysis, crime investigations, or a related area is desired.
- Experience with National Integrated Ballistic Information Network (NIBIN) technology or similar forensic crime databases is preferred.
- Ability to coordinate and collaborate with multiple law enforcement agencies at the local, state, and federal levels.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $61,531.00 - $98,449.00 per year
