We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Optometrist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye care services, including vision examinations, diagnosis, and treatment of eye diseases and conditions. You will play a crucial role in enhancing patients' visual health and overall well-being through exceptional patient care and education.
Duties
- Conduct thorough eye examinations to assess vision and detect eye diseases.
- Prescribe corrective lenses and other visual aids as needed.
- Provide patient education on eye health, proper care of contact lenses, and preventive measures.
- Maintain accurate medical records, including patient histories and examination results.
- Utilize medical terminology effectively when documenting findings and communicating with healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Stay updated on advancements in ophthalmology and optometry practices.
- Perform necessary tests to evaluate vital signs related to ocular health.
- Apply aseptic techniques during procedures to maintain a sterile environment.
- Qualifications
- Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid state NM license to practice optometry.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy related to the eye and surrounding structures.
- Familiarity with medical coding and record management systems is preferred.
- Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach towards diverse populations.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while also demonstrating independence in clinical decision-making.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment commonly used in optometric practice.
- Previous experience in pediatrics is a plus but not required.
