Summary : We support and enhance the teaching, learning, research, and outreach endeavors of NMSU. Position includes allowance for moving expenses. For more information about working at NMSU please visit NMSU Talent .
Classification Summary : The position reports to the department head of NMSU Library Reference and Research Services department. The librarian will collaborate closely with the Director of Instructional Design (DID) of the NMSU Global Campus program, supporting instructional designers, instructors, distance education students, and those enrolled in NMSU Global Campus programs.
Classification Standard Duties :
Required Education, Experience, Certification / License, Equivalency : MLS or equivalent from an ALA-accredited library school by the start date of the position.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Innovative and forward-thinking team player who will create new opportunities to enhance reference services within the NMSU Global campus and for distance education students. The successful candidate will work independently and collaboratively, and adapt to change in a busy, complex, and changing environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate critical thinking, patron confidentiality, attention to detail, and open-mindedness.
Preferred Qualifications :
Bargaining Unit Eligibility : This is NOT a bargaining unit position with American Federation of State, County & Municipal Employees (AFSCME).
Standard Work Schedule : Standard (M-F, 8-5)
If Not a Standard Work Schedule : May include evenings and weekends.

Environment : Work is normally performed in a typical interior / office work environment.

Lifting Requirements : Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 10 pounds or some standing or walking.
