About New Mexico Military Institute: The New Mexico Military Institute (NMMI) is a state-supported, coeducational institution offering college preparatory education at the high school and junior college levels. With a student
body of up to 1,000 cadets, NMMI provides a comprehensive academic experience complemented by Junior and Senior
Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) programs. The high school curriculum is fully accredited, preparing students for
higher education. The junior college program facilitates cadet transfer to four-year colleges and universities.
Additionally, NMMI houses the Intermediate Preparatory Academy (IPA) for grades 6-8. The IPA delivers a distinctive
curriculum that emphasizes immersive, intensive, and hands-on learning in a structured environment.
Position: Under general supervision, the Campus Police Officer is responsible for protecting and serving those who
live, work, and visit the New Mexico Military Institute (NMMI) and for providing law enforcement services as described
in New Mexico statutes. The Campus Police Officer also performs related duties as assigned. This is an exempt, 12-
month full-time position. The salary for this position is $38,000.00 - $40,000.00. The job description is available upon

Tasks:
Patrols the campus to prevent, detect, and respond to
situations.
Transports and deposits the proceeds from the daily
transactions for the Business Office.
Prevents and produces reports of criminal activities and
follows up on the investigation of cases and reports to
the office.
Other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills:
Knowledge of the principles and practices of law
enforcement.
Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws,
ordinances, statutes, rules, regulations, policies, and
procedures.
Knowledge or the ability to obtain knowledge of the
New Mexico Blue Book.
Knowledge or the ability to obtain knowledge of the
NMMI Operations and Procedures book.
Qualifications:
Required:
High School Diploma.
NM Police Officer Certification.
Law enforcement experience.
Preferred:
Associate’s Degree.
