About New Mexico Military Institute: The New Mexico Military Institute (NMMI) is a state-supported, coeducational institution offering college preparatory education at the high school and junior college levels. With a student
body of up to 1,000 cadets, NMMI provides a comprehensive academic experience complemented by Junior and Senior
Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) programs. The high school curriculum is fully accredited, preparing students for
higher education. The junior college program facilitates cadet transfer to four-year colleges and universities.
Additionally, NMMI houses the Intermediate Preparatory Academy (IPA) for grades 6-8. The IPA delivers a distinctive
curriculum emphasizing immersive, intensive, hands-on learning in a structured environment.
Position: NMMI is seeking a tenure-track Mathematics faculty to teach high school and/or junior college mathematics
courses beginning the fall semester of 2025. Furthers the mission of New Mexico Military Institute, most specifically, the
academic ends of a liberal arts education through developing cadet thinking, acquiring knowledge, and communication.
NMMI values diversity among its faculty. This is an exempt, 9-month, full-time position. The Salary is based on
experience and level of education. The job description is available upon request.
Tasks:
Teach High School & College courses in the academic
discipline(s) of Mathematics within the Mathematics
Department.
Prepare course syllabi in the provided format used in
the department.
Prepare instructions by the approved course syllabi.
Report cadet absences and tardiness per policy on
attendance takers.
Compute grades in compliance with approved course
syllabi.
Report student grades each semester at specified
intervals on the Grade Report form supplied by the
registrar, i.e. at nine weeks and end of semester.
Update grades on a regular basis on canvas.
Other duties as assigned.

Individuals must, in addition to knowledge, skills, and
abilities, possess the necessary physical capacity to
perform the essential functions of the job as defined in
this document.
Factual familiarity with the subject matter in teaching
areas.
Factual familiarity with learning skills in teaching
areas.
Be familiar with and abide by regulations established in
Faculty Handbook, NMMI Operations, and Procedure
Manual. Be familiar with the Corps of Cadets Manual
(Blue Book).
Visual ability should be corrected if necessary to enable
the faculty to perform the required duties and tasks.
Ability to learn and perform all essential job functions
accurately with minimal direct supervision.
Qualifications:
Required:
Master’s degree from a regionally accredited
institution, preferably with an initial contract or, in
exceptional cases, within five years.
If eighteen graduate credit hours in the discipline or
subfield they teach.
Preferred:
Faculty with experience in their teaching field.
