Job Summary:
New Mexico State University Foundation is seeking a People Operations Specialist to join our Talent & Culture team! Reporting to the Chief of Talent and Culture, the People Operations Specialist will be responsible for supporting our people processes across the full employee lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to help others and provide a high level of customer service while serving as the main point of contact for employees, ensuring all people processes are efficiently executed in a timely manner to create the most streamlined and positive employee experience across the organization.
Essential Functions:
- Manage employee data in the HRIS to support processes such as onboarding, terminations, job changes, and payroll with a focus on employee experience and data integrity.
- Build and maintain people process documentation.
- Provide logistical support for the onboarding process.
- Serve as the main resource to all Foundation team members for everyday needs, including but not limited to onboarding, benefits, immigration, perks, and offboarding.
- Participate on cross-functional projects with internal teams to evolve current people processes (Finance, IT, Administration).
- Execute critical tasks associated with ensuring people processes are completed successfully with a goal of continuous improvement.
- Assist in the recruiting process to ensure a seamless candidate experience.
- Provide support to the Chief of Talent and Culture and other Foundation leaders by running operational reporting from people systems.
- Ensure confidentiality at all times.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Management or other related field and at least two (2) years of human resources experience.
- PHR or SHRM-CP preferred.
- Demonstrated experience working in HRIS systems.
- Demonstrated experience administering the full array of employee benefits.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Detail oriented self-starter and team player with the ability to work with little supervision.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including full proficiency in Excel and strong administrative skills.
