Summary : The Department of Marketing (PGA Golf Mgt Program) in the College of Business at New Mexico State University (NMSU) is seeking to fill a 12-month, non-tenure-track faculty position at the College Assistant Professor level in Marketing / PGA Golf Mgt. starting in May 2025.
Classification Summary : The Department of Marketing (PGA Golf Mgt Program) in the College of Business at New Mexico State University (NMSU) is seeking to fill a 12-month, non-tenure-track faculty position at the College Assistant Professor level in Marketing / PGA Golf Mgt. The position start date will be summer 2025, with an initial course load of 12 credit hours in the Fall and no credit hours in the Spring. The candidate will be required to oversee MKTG 481-PGA Golf Management Final Experience, although no instruction is expected for this course. All courses will have face-to-face course delivery. Responsibilities of the successful candidate will include teaching (as specified above), advising PGA Golf Management students, overseeing the internship program and the scholarship program for the PGA Golf Management Program, and engaging in service to the department, college, university, and community. The candidate is expected to contribute to an educational environment that fosters learning for individuals from diverse backgrounds. Additionally, the selected candidate will serve as the Director of the PGA Golf Management Program.
Classification Standard Duties : Position duties include oversight of all aspects of internships, including but not limited to : maintaining a list of current contacts for all businesses that meet internship criteria and are interested in hosting a PGA Golf Management intern; site evaluation for selection of student placements; evaluation of site professionals to ensure assistance in the completion of specific work experience activities for program interns; the monitoring of evaluations of interns by site professionals and of evaluations of working conditions and activities of site by interns during placement; and proper documentation of internship sites, placements, and evaluations.
The successful candidate will oversee the scholarship program within the PGA Golf Management Program. This includes reviewing all applications and awarding scholarships, managing relationships with donors, and attending the scholarship Luncheon with the scholarship recipients. Required Education, Experience, Certification / License, Equivalency
Master's degree or higher in Business from an AACSB International accredited business school.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience at the time of appointment. PGA of America Class-A Membership is required.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Position duties include oversiight of PGA golf management accounts as well as PGA foundation and scholarship accounts. Additionally, the candidate will serve as a liaison between the University and the PGA of America and will primarily be responsible for recruiting and retention efforts. The successful candidate will also actively oversee the internship Program and work with PGA on necessary submissions.
