Summary: Seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Engineering Technician Supervisor. As the Electrical Engineering Technician Supervisor, you will oversee the design, prototyping, and testing of cutting-edge electronic circuits. You'll mentor and train a team of talented students, ensuring their success in research and development.
Classification Summary:
To provide supervisory field electronic technical support in order to fulfill contractual obligations.
Classification Standard Duties:
Supervises, directs, delegates, and evaluates work of assigned staff. Serves as lead technician in providing electronic technical support. Designs, fabricates, tests, evaluates, modifies, repairs, and operates electronic systems and test equipment. Coordinates training of subordinates consistent with existing procedures and policies; participates in design/program reviews. Provides technical assistance to co-workers and customers at the project management level for problem resolution. Assists in the development of safety procedures relating to electronic fabrication and ensures safe working environment. Prepares procurement specifications for purchase requisitions and detailed specifications for use in competitive bids. Collaborates in the development of technical drawings, schematics, and reports as required by contracts. Researches new methods and techniques for use in designing and fabricating electronic systems and equipment. Performs evaluations, approves time cards, and approves leave requested for assigned staff. Performs related duties as required.
Required Education, Experience, Certification/License, Equivalency
Required Education:Bachelor's degree; Required Experience:A minimum of six (6) years of related experience.; Equivalency:Minimum ten (10) years of related experience; OR Associate degree in related field with a minimum of eight (8) years of related experience; OR Equivalent military education; OR Any equivalent combination of experience; Required Certification/License:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Circuit Design and Prototyping:
Design and simulate electronic circuits using CAD tools (e.g., Altium Designer, KiCad).
Build prototypes of electronic circuits on breadboards or PCBs.
Test and debug prototypes to ensure they meet design specifications.
Equipment Maintenance and Calibration:
Calibrate and maintain electronic test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, function generators, power supplies).
Troubleshoot and repair faulty equipment.
Data Acquisition and Analysis:
Use data acquisition systems to collect and analyze electrical data.
Process and analyze data using software tools (e.g., MATLAB, Python, LabVIEW).
Fabrication and Assembly:
Assemble electronic components onto PCBs using soldering and other techniques.
Fabricate custom cables and wiring harnesses.
Research and Development:
Assist engineers in conducting research projects.
Student Training and Mentoring:
Train students in electrical engineering concepts and laboratory techniques.
Mentor students on research projects.
Compliance with and supervision of safety procedures.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Environment: Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
