Summary: Join our team as an Enterprise Systems Analyst Inter at NMSU! This role involves mastering and maintaining A/V classroom technology, training student technicians, and working with a variety of A/V equipment and protocols. You'll be responsible for equipment programming, maintenance, troubleshooting, and documentation. Plus, you'll provide hands-on support to the NMSU community and handle miscellaneous duties. Classification Summary:
Under supervision performs work that is varied and somewhat difficult in character. Usually involves limited responsibility. Includes duties associated with a systems administrator or systems analyst. Installs and expand personal computer based systems. Determines required software and hardware in conjunction with end users. Programs or selects suitable software to meet user requirements. Installs new and maintains existing hardware. Provides problem-solving support to computer users. Develops and maintains telecommunications systems.
Classification Standard Duties:
Collects information to analyze and evaluate existing or proposed systems. Investigates, plans, implements, tests, and debugs operating system software. Analyzes and evaluates present or proposed business procedures or problems to define data processing needs. Prepares detailed flow charts and diagrams outlining systems capabilities and processes. Researches and recommends hardware and software development, purchase, and use. Troubleshoots and resolves hardware, software, and connectivity problems, including user access and component configuration. Provides advanced technical assistance and maintenance support to departmental end users. Documents projects and writes user instructions. Uses judgment in selecting among authorized procedures and seeks assistance when guidelines are inadequate, significant deviations are proposed, or when unanticipated problems arise. May supervise and/or lead lower graded staff and/or student employees. Provides functional direction to lower level technicians on assigned work. Records and maintains hardware and software inventories, site and/or server licensing, and user access and security. Maintains currency of knowledge with respect to relevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems. Performs problem resolution and provides on-call support for computer/network systems. May train users in use of equipment. May be responsible for monitoring data integrity and system security. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Required Education, Experience, Certification/License, Equivalency
Required Education: Bachelors degree: Required Experience: Three (3) years of experience directly related to the standard duties as outlined; Equivalency: Completion of a post-secondary degree or certificate may substitute for years of experience.; Required Certification/License: Equivalency: Associates Degree: Completion of a two-year degree or an IT related certificate may count as two years of experience, with an additional five years of relevant work experience. GED: with seven years of directly related work experience.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
The Systems Analyst Inter position will be responsible for maintaining a deep understanding for the best A/V classroom technology for the NMSU main campus classrooms/conference rooms. They will also be responsible for training the student technician employees in that equipment. They will need to be familiar with different lines of A/V technologies such as, (Crestron, Kramer, SP Controls, Extron, Vaddio, Logitech). Be familiar with A/V protocols such as (RS-232, AVoIP, HDbaseT). Be familiar with standard classroom A/V technology such as (PC’s, Projectors, Hybrid cameras/microphones, lecterns, Interactive Flat Panel Displays). Be familiar with working with hand tools, power tools, lifting and installing equipment in racks and desks as well as ceilings. They will be the point person for equipment programming, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting, quotes to update or upgrade equipment. They will maintain documentation of the best-practices and logging changes and reasons for the change to protocols or equipment. They will be required to answer phone calls and emails. Provide in person assistance during class for the NMSU main community. They will also perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

ITIL is preferred.
