JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: ADMISSIONS COORDINATOR
SUPERVISOR: Executive Director
MISSION: We aspire to provide safe, professional, culturally relevant care with dignity and respect to individuals and families seeking addiction treatment.
PURPOSE: The purpose of this position is to coordinate the admission process which starts with the phone interview to determine appropriate candidate for admission to detox or/and residential treatment. Screening includes the medical clearance, co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders, medication appropriate, and all necessary forms completed for admission process. The Admission Coordinator will assure that all pertinent information is completed prior to admission and upon admission.
DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES: The Admission Coordinator is responsible for the initial admission to the facility and ensures that the proper documentation including the medical clearance, assessment and other appropriate forms are completed. The Admission Coordinator will assign consent for treatment and the UA testing and documentation.
EXAMPLE OF WORK:
1. Will schedule phone interviews and assess for appropriateness.
2. Maintains required documentation to include admission screening, medical clearance and other documentation needed before admission.
3. Assesses and pre-approves screened individual for admission to the residential program and/or detox. Obtaining authorization from funding source for services.
4. Coordinates admission with Executive Director.
5. Oversees, coordinates and maintains all clinical standards are met regarding medication and other medical conditions are addressed.
6. Will complete the appropriate section of the client electronic record and insure that quality of care is met.
7. Must submit any reports mandated by funding sources in timely manner.
8. Any other related duties as assigned.
9. Will coordinate UA, medication count and other duties with appropriate staff.
MINIMUN QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Two years experience in human services with knowledge of substance abuse; and understanding of the recovery process and working with clients with co-occurring mental health/substance abuse problems in residential setting.
2. Ability to communicate well orally and in writing.
3. Must speak, read, write and comprehend English.
4. Must be computer literate in order to effectively maintain compliance with the funding source, standards and requirement for use of computerized client assessment, data system and electronic medical records.
5. Must have and maintain valid New Mexico driver’s license.
6. Must pass criminal screening and random drug tests.
7. Must maintain confidentiality of client health records (HIPAA and all other shared information about clients, families and the public.
8. Must be available days/hours/holidays as dictated by agency needs.
9. Must adhere to all safety regulations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
