- $60 per hour (1099/C2C - Independent)
About the Role
We are seeking a Technical Writer with an engineering or development background to join our team. This individual will play a critical role in supporting our engineering teams by improving documentation, streamlining workflows, and enhancing overall productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, edit, and maintain technical documentation, including developer guides, API documentation, system architecture overviews, and internal knowledge bases.
- Collaborate with engineers to extract and document best practices, coding standards, and system processes.
- Improve and standardize documentation to enhance the productivity and efficiency of our engineering teams.
- Utilize Confluence and other documentation tools to structure and manage content effectively.
- Identify gaps in existing documentation and proactively work with stakeholders to address them.
- Assist in developing training materials and onboarding guides for new engineers.
- Continuously seek ways to enhance documentation processes and ensure alignment with team goals.
Required Qualifications
- Background in software development or engineering (e.g., experience with coding, system architecture, or technical problem-solving).
- Strong writing skills with the ability to break down complex technical information for different audiences.
- Familiarity with Confluence and other documentation tools.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in technical writing, documentation, or knowledge management within an engineering environment.
- Understanding of software development methodologies, tools, and workflows.
- Exposure to programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript) or DevOps practices.
