We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Biller to join our team! The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing and managing insurance claims, ensuring accurate billing for medical services, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. Responsibilities
- Ensure proper coding of services based on ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS guidelines.
- Submit insurance claims electronically or manually to third-party payers, ensuring that all required documentation is included for reimbursement.
- Monitor the status of submitted claims, address any rejections, denials, or underpayments, and work with insurance companies and patients to resolve billing issues.
- Assist patients in navigating the billing and insurance landscape.
- Generate patient statements, answer billing inquiries, and assist patients with any concerns related to their accounts.
- Enter all billing and payment information into the system properly and without errors
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all patient accounts, payments, and balances. Assist in maintaining a clean and organized billing environment.
- Answer phones, assist patients with questions, take messages, and screen calls.
- Maintains the highest level of confidentiality
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Comfort with new technology.
- Excellent attention to detail and organization skills.
- Familiarity with insurance guidelines, reimbursement procedures, and claims submission processes.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) and medical billing software desired.
- Knowledge of healthcare laws, including HIPAA and payer-specific requirements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
