Expected Shift: Monday - Thursday, Swing Shift: 3pm - 11pm
Compensation: $21.50/hour
Purpose: The Resident Support Specialist (RSS) is responsible for providing direct support to all residents of Sandy Community Apartments, including those participating in the Psychiatric Security Review Board (PSRB) program. This role focuses on fostering a safe, stable, and supportive living environment that promotes autonomy, independence, and community integration for all residents. The RSS will engage with residents to address their individual needs, support their well-being, and support in maintaining housing. Additionally, the RSS will collaborate with treatment teams, property management, and external partners to ensure residents receive the support they need to maintain stability and independence.
Accountabilities:
- Provide one-on-one support to residents, including emotional support, conflict resolution, and de-escalation when necessary.
- Facilitate residents' engagement in daily activities and community-building efforts.
- Ensure that residents adhere to program guidelines, including medication management and participation in mandatory PSRB requirements (e.g., UDS, curfew check-ins).
- Provide support with medication adherence as needed, including reminders, assistance with medication management, and coordination with healthcare providers to ensure timely medication delivery and renewal.
- Assist with medication storage and administration as outlined in the policies and procedures manual.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of resident interactions, incidents, and service delivery, including communication logs, incident reports, and contact notes.
- Perform safety assessments as needed.
- Assist with the coordination of move-ins and move-outs in collaboration with New Narrative Property Management (NNPM) and site staff.
- Conduct safety checks and respond to emergencies, including coordinating with external authorities (e.g., police or treatment teams) when necessary.
- Report incidents, property damage, or behaviors that pose a significant risk to residents or staff to property management following established protocols.
- Participate in training and professional development, including trauma-informed care, Motivational Interviewing, and CPR.
Other General Expectations:
- Adhere to all policies and procedures as outlined in the Sandy Community Apartments Policies and Procedures Manual.
- Support site supervisors in administrative duties and ensure the smooth running of daily operations.
- Maintain confidentiality of all resident information and uphold professional conduct standards at all times.
- Actively engage in team meetings and collaborate with treatment teams, property management, and external service providers to meet residents' needs.
- Take responsibility for finding shift coverage in the event of an absence. If coverage cannot be found, inform the site supervisor promptly and ensure all duties are communicated to the next shift.
- Ensure proper communication when shift duties cannot be completed, including emailing the supervisor and the next shift to provide support or make necessary arrangements.

Education/Certificates/Licenses/Registration: Must be 18 years of age and capable of implementing the emergency procedures and disaster plan.
