Professional, supervisory, administrative and technical work directing all activities relating to a large S&WB Bureau. Some positions may also function as the second in command to a Utility Services Administrator. Work includes planning, assigning and reviewing the work of lower level managers and may include a staff of professional, technical and clerical employees. Work includes establishing and monitoring management controls for assigned operational area and ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state and local regulations pertaining to Board operations where applicable; and related work as required.

This vacancy is in the Risk Management Department. A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
Possession of a valid driver's license.
AND EITHER :
- Four (4) years of professional, salaried experience in a comprehensive risk management program. Two (2) years of this experience must have been supervisory.
- Two (2) years of experience in tort litigation and a current license to practice law in the state of Louisiana. License will be verified through the Louisiana State Bar Association.
- Permanent status with the Sewerage & Water Board in a class of work having a pay grade equal to or higher than Utility Services Manager (pay grade 88) and two (2) years of experience in risk management at that level.
Note : If appointed, an Associate in Risk Management certification (ARM) must be obtained during the probationary period. No probationary period may last longer than one year. Failure to receive ARM certification will result in termination.
This position requires a one (1) year probationary period.
NOTE : Domicile requirements are currently waived for the purpose of application. Residency requirements are waived for all Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans positions vacant and advertised for at least 90 days. Employees hired under this waiver remain exempt from the city's residency requirement for the duration of their employment at the Sewerage and Water Board. (La R.S. 33 : 4076). A rating of training and experience, weighted 100%. All related previous experience will be considered for qualification purposes; however, credit on the rating of training and experience will only be given for experience gained within the last ten (10) years.
