What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler position at New Page Management?
At Jet-Hot, our Material Handler moves, organizes, and stores various non-hazardous and hazardous materials within our warehouse.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Read bill of lading, inventory list, or other documents.
- Move materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas.
- Inspect received materials.
- Sort and place materials.
- Band and wrap finished goods as needed to prepare them for shipping.
- Communicate with Supply Chain Manager to keep shipping schedule flowing smoothly
- Input customer parts for production according to the current production schedule.
- Maintain inventory records.
- Drive forklift and/or other moving equipment as needed.
- Maintain a productive and safe environment.
Qualification requirements:
- Previous warehouse, shipping, and receiving experience strongly preferred.
- 1 year of forklift driving experience, certification strongly preferred.
- Experience in a production environment preferred.
- Ability to read and understand English.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to drive forklift and make appropriate safety decisions when operating forklift.
- Ability to lift, bend, and/or step-up on a regular basis.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to sit for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
