Summary:
Engineered Steel Products is looking for experienced Steel Fabrication Fitters, with prior experience in structural steel.
A structural steel fitter plays a crucial role in the fabrication and erection of steel structures. A fitter’s primary job is to prepare and assemble steel components according to blueprints and specifications before they are permanently welded together by a structural steel welder.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ability to understand complex structural drawings, including dimensions, tolerances, welding symbols, and assembly instructions.
Material Handling: They often handle large and heavy steel members using cranes, hoists, and other lifting equipment.
Lay out reference lines and markings on steel to indicate where other components will be attached.
Perform minor cutting, grinding, or shaping of steel using hand tools or portable power tools to ensure proper fit-up.
Position, align, and temporarily secure steel components (like beams, columns, angles, and plates) together using various methods.
Qualification requirements:
