New Pig Corporation, a leader in providing environmental and safety solutions for companies throughout the world, is seeking a smart, enthusiastic, detail-oriented and self-motivated person to join our award-winning engineering and R&D team. The ideal candidate will be a valuable go-to resource to perform testing, analysis, ensuring accurate data recording and reporting on critical characteristics of products and raw materials used in existing or new product offerings. This role includes a high percentage of hands-on work in addition to planning and reporting. This position is based in Altoona, PA.
Responsibilities:
- Perform and manage routine and specialized laboratory tests on new materials, competitive products and New Pig products in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Record, analyze data, develop conclusions of findings, and communication via professional reports through Laboratory Information Management (LIMS) system
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure precision and accuracy
- Collaborate and assist in research projects, experiments and development of new testing procedures
- Hands-on work with large variety of materials and product types
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness and adhere to safety protocols, including proper disposal of hazardous and other waste materials
- Adhere to New Pig’s Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards
- All other duties as assigned or directed
Minimum Requirements:
- Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Laboratory Science, or related field, or proven experience working in a laboratory setting
- Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques, instrumentation, and safety procedures
- Excellent analytical, mathematical skills (calculations, analysis, spreadsheets) and problem solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong organizational, attentional to detail, project and time management skills
- Proficiency in computer applications and data entry related to laboratory work
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Can-do, positive attitude
