The Meat & Seafood Clerk's tasks will include but are not limited to frequent and extended periods working with chilled and frozen products, preparing food and stocking coolers and cases, as well as handling raw meat and seafood items. Scheduled tasks may also involve frequent periods of time in walk in coolers and freezers.
This position requires a committed schedule which may include opening, mid-shift, and closing, and requires weekend, and holiday shifts on a regular basis.
This is a part- time position requiring 20-28 hours weekly.
Starting Wage: $14/hr
Negotiable based on experience
What You'll Do
- Provide outstanding customer service in a retail and counter-service environment
- Interact with customers and team members in an engaging and positive manner
- Prepare, package and stock meat and seafood with a focus on departmental standards
- Demonstrate product knowledge
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly
- Contribution to an inclusive culture and cooperative values
- Verifiable work experience with excellent tenure and attendance
- Grocery store, convenience, food service, or retail experience
- Demonstrated retail customer service experience and skills
- Familiarity with organic and natural foods
- Attention to detail and ability to efficiently perform assigned tasks
- Ability to read and speak English and perform basic arithmetic
