What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool Teacher position at New Pisgah Day Care?
The Preschool Teacher is responsible for a classroom of children 3-5 years of age. The Teacher will work collaboratively with his/her partner Teacher to ensure the successful operation of a classroom with a total of 15 children.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greets children and parents/guardians in a professional and enthusiastic manner each day.
- Maintains a happy, sanitary, and relaxed atmosphere in the preschool room by following daily procedures and routines.
- Write weekly lesson plans with co-teacher on weekly basis to be approved by the Director.
- Work closely with lead teacher in a co-teaching atmosphere and shares pertinent information, suggestions, and ideas on a regular basis.
- Interacts with children through instructional methods to include play, music, arts and crafts, reading, writing, computer, and physical activities.
- Teaches children appropriate preschool Creative curriculum including but not limited to the alphabet, numbers, colors, shapes, hand washing and family style meal serving.
- Develops and maintains a positive and confidential relationship with the parents of every child, including thorough communication about the program and each child’s progress
- Prepare and execute nap time routine to include lesson planning and professional development.
- Maintain student documentation through Teaching Strategies GOLD.

Experience:
- Teaching: 3 years (Preferred)
- Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
BA/AA ECE- or related field /or CDA Gateway Lv. 2, 3,4, or 5
Salary : $22 - $26
