We know the country’s lack of political leadership is not due to our lack of leaders. 

There is a whole new generation of committed citizens out there, forged by service in the military and national service programs like AmeriCorps, Peace Corps, and Service Year Alliance, who always put country and democracy first. Our political leadership training is not typical. We do not seek to only find leaders who want to run for office but rather to build a movement of civically engaged, politically diverse servant leaders who will continuously ask: What is best for the country? Our nonpartisan community encourages people from across the political spectrum to connect over a service mindset to build the capacity to collaborate and commit to delivering results. Since 2016, we have created leadership programs that recruit transformational leaders to strengthen democracy through politics. Strengthening democracy takes time, and we’re invested for the long haul. We’re just getting started. We are establishing our brand as a hub for servant leaders, supporting them from their initial interest in political leadership through their long careers.

The Opportunity

New Politics Leadership Academy is seeking a Digital Associate to support the execution of our digital communications efforts. Reporting to the Communications Director, this role will focus on the day-to-day management of our digital platforms and campaigns, ensuring the smooth implementation of digital strategy and leveraging storytelling to engage and inspire our audience. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong grasp of a variety of digital tools who is eager to grow with the role over time.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, code, and schedule emails, manage email calendar, and track performance metrics
• Assist with basic regular website updates and coordination with website vendors as needed
• Maintain digital asset library and help with creative file organization
• Assist in implementing digital email campaigns and tracking results
• Monitor analytics across digital platforms and prepare performance reports
• Coordinate with recruitment and programs teams to ensure the timely execution of outreach emails
• Provide administrative support to the Communications team as needed

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• 1–3 years of experience in digital communications, marketing, or political campaigns
• Familiarity with digital tools like Mailchimp, Canva, Squarespace, Salesforce, Account Engagement (Pardot), Google Analytics, AWS, NGP, and EveryAction 
• Experience with email list segmentation
• Basic HTML/CSS coding experience
• Website editing experience
• Comfort using analytics dashboards and tracking engagement metrics
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent writing and editing skills, especially for email and social media
• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate clearly with a variety of stakeholders
• A proactive, can-do attitude and eagerness to learn

Bonus if you have:

• Experience with digital fundraising or email list building
• Video editing or animation skills

The starting salary for this position is $60,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
