What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recovery Mentor/House Manager position at New Priorities Family Services?
This position requires the applicant to work 25-40 hours per week, qualify to be a Certified Recovery Mentor, pass a background check, (not automatically eliminated for previous criminal history) and have a valid driver's license and vehicle.
Job Summary
The house manager is to reside in the supported housing unit to oversee and meet the needs of clients engaged in New Priorities Family Services' treatment program. Responsibilities include transporting clients, collaborating with treatment teams, facilitating recovery activities, and monitoring clients in supported housing. Candidates must have at least one year of abstinence, a valid driver’s license, and be willing to obtain Addictions Recovery Mentor certification (training provided). A background check and drug screening are required but do not automatically disqualify applicants with past history. Required Qualifications
1). Documented abstinence (1 yr minimum)
2). MHACBO certification for Addictions Recovery Mentor or willing to acquire certification within 45 days of being hired (NPFS will send/pay for successful candidate to required trainings)
3). Valid driver license and proof of current auto insurance. Applicant must be able to pass criminal background check and drug screening. (not
necessarily eliminated due to past history). High School diploma or GED.
Successful Candidate must be committed to working with diverse community populations and community resources. Days/hours vary. There will be some evening hours.
Qualifications
- Direct interactions with clients who are assigned to recovery. Transportation: taking clients to some appointments, when appropriate, if approved by supervisor.
- Collaborate with treatment team, agency, client’s support networks, and community providers to address the needs of clients
- Helping monitor clients who are in residential (and detox) and incarcerated to stay connected with them and ensure that they remain connected to NPFS.
- Helping clinicians with groups at the office. Assisting other treatment activities.
- Helping clients develop and connect to non-using recovery activities (how to have fun clean and sober).
- Conduct urinary analysis on clients as needed.

Wages
Dependant on experience as well as free housing.
