We are looking for a skilled and experienced Industrial Shift Supervisor to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the production process and ensuring smooth operations. As a key leader, you will need strong organizational abilities, technical expertise, and the capacity to effectively manage a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and address quality issues, developing corrective actions when necessary.
- Review production reports to assess activity against goals and implement improvements to meet targets.
- Manage the production schedule and assign work orders to the production equipment; perform final reviews of work orders before costing.
- Investigate delays in the department, including maintenance, operator, or quality issues.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and housekeeping within the department, assigning tasks as needed.
- Lead safety training initiatives for employees.
- Conduct quality training and maintain appropriate training records for employees.
- Evaluate employee performance and provide salary recommendations.
- Operate all production equipment as needed.
- Maximize manpower efficiency to ensure excellent customer service.
- Ensure employee compliance with conduct rules and apply discipline where necessary.
- Lead by example in attendance, work ethic, safety, quality, and maintaining a clean work environment.
- Foster effective communication with peers, including other shift supervisors and the plant manager.
- Meeting production goals outlined in daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
- Achieving safety goals, tracked through monthly and annual OSHA logs.
- Attaining quality objectives, reflected in monthly rejection reports from the quality department.
- Maintaining acceptable standards of housekeeping.
- Timely completion of assignments, with follow-up to ensure closure.
- Leadership in promoting problem-solving, team collaboration, and interdepartmental cooperation.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or a combination of relevant education and experience with a proven record of personnel management.
- Experience in operating production equipment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, scheduling software, and Lotus Notes.
- OSHA training to manage an effective safety program.
- Familiarity with ISO 9000 standards for quality management.
