What are the responsibilities and job description for the IDD Support Staff position at New Progressions, LLC?

A nationally accredited provider is currently seeking a full time Support Staff for our IDD program. The IDD Support Staff will aid and assist at our North Jackson location. All staff will have responsibility for the following under the direction of the team leader:
- Participating in the person-centered planning process
- Assisting with implementing a home-based behavioral support plan with the beneficiary and the
beneficiary’s caregivers as indicated in the PCP
- Will provide monitoring and supervision
- Assisting the team leader in monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions, as
evidenced by symptom reduction and progress toward goals identified in the PCP
- Assisting with crisis intervention
- Assisting the team leader in consulting with identified providers, engaging community and natural supports, and including their input in the person-centered planning process
- Provide assistance and support to participants as needed
- Be able to aid and assist with toileting accidents
- Be able to assist clients with community involvement & other activities
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Will have knowledge of mental illness, substance abuse, behavior modification, behavior management and developmental psychology. Ability to remain calm in stressful situations. Have an ability to handle frequent crises. Have an ability to apply counseling techniques to problems in individual and group sessions. Be able to provide consultation and coordination of services with other agencies. Must possess good communication skills. Be able to provide supervision to staff to include monitoring, evaluating and recommending strategies for working with adolescents and children. All staff providing IDD services to children/adults and families must have a minimum of two (2) years documented experience with this population.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A high school graduate or GED. Must have at least two (2) years experience with this population.
DMH credentialed recommended but not required.
MANDT training preferred but not required.
