The Membership Manager is responsible for coordinating essential membership functions and retention related programs.
§ Actively promote membership to the Centre in public.
§ Develop and participate in special events as needed.
§ Tour prospective members.
§ Participate in gathering member stories.
§ Participate in Manager On Duty shifts and responsibilities.
§ Participate in membership campaigns and promotions.
: Provide courteous, prompt and sincere attention to all Centre members and guests.
§ Communicate and treat other staff members with courtesy and respect.
§ Maintain a positive and helpful attitude with all members and community participants.
§ Keep supervisor informed of decisions and unresolved issues.
§ Respond to all member concerns and communicate feedback in a timely manner.
§ Represent the Centre and maintain positive relationship with members, participants, and the community at large.
Provide leadership and supervision to related retention programs in accordance with Centre policies and procedures.
§ Provide regular member retention events and activities for Centre members.
§ Develop and implement, through direction and communication with supervisor, an on-going retention program for Centre members. These activities may include, but are not limited to: follow up on tour cards, touring prospective members, administering a calling program for members, developing member appreciation events.
§ Promote commitment to the goals and philosophy of the Centre by remaining current and cutting edge with programming and equipment.
§ Deal with member and community participant concerns in a timely, professional manner.
§ Develop and participate in special events as requested.
§ Provide reports as requested.
§ Train Centre staff to give tours that result in new members.
§ Meet retention goals as assigned.
§ Be the first point of contact for giving facility tours for prospective members.
§ Be the first point of contact for members who cancel.
§ Promote membership to area businesses and community groups.
Handle all necessary managerial activities in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Centre.
§ Prepare budgets specifically related to assigned programs and assure adherence to final budget income generation and expense control.
§ Attend and participate in staff meetings, projects and retreats to share in the total success of the Centre.
§ Maintain all required certifications and attend recommended training programs.
§ Develop and implement a system of communication with staff to create a teamwork atmosphere.
§ Maintain all required paperwork including, but not limited to, attendance records, accident/injury/incident reports, and employee wellness related records.
§ Recruit, hire, train, schedule, supervise and evaluate volunteers.
§ Assure that all volunteers have the proper trainings/certifications.
§ Organize and keep all necessary program records, volunteer files, rosters and statistics.
§ Drive Centre approved vehicles as requested.
§ Participate in fundraising campaigns as requested.
§ Develop and participate in special events as needed.
§ Maintain an accurate calendar.
§ Recruit volunteers for Centre special events and other program and facility needs.
Experience
§ Education and/or equivalent experience relating to business management, marketing, sales or equivalent.
§ Minimum 2 - 3 years of management experience.
§ Minimum 2 - 3 years experience working in marketing and sales.
§ Excellent organization, communication, and administration skills.
§ Ability to recruit, train and motivate paid and volunteer staff.
Preferred
§ Degree in Marketing and Sales.
§ CPR certification.
§ Minimum 2 - 3 years experience working in marketing and sales.
This job description represents the major functions of the position but is not intended to be all-inclusive.
The incumbent is also responsible for taking direction from the Centre Executive Director and the Centre Board of Directors in completing projects or performing duties deemed necessary for the organization’s success. The incumbent must be able to work effectively in a fast paced environment.
The position is full-time exempt and not a standard 9-5 pm position and will include occasional nights and weekends. The incumbent can expect to average 42-45 hours per week.

Pay: $44,000.00 - $59,000.00 per year
